A Thousand Deaths

You passed your judgment.
You dispensed your justice.
I am not cut out for love.
Yet, your bellows kept the flame burning.
Did you know that I died a thousand deaths?
And yes, I became passé
like squeaky door hinges
in the dusty corners of my unanswered prayers.
